PJMOT Volta Region: A Historic Medical Screening Success

For the first time in the history of the tournament’s operations in the region, PJMOT incorporated a comprehensive medical screening exercise as part of the official player registration process, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the total wellbeing of participating players.

This pioneering initiative was made possible through the invaluable support of Emmanuel Medical Hospital, Ho–Fiave, whose professional medical team conducted free basic health screenings for players and officials.

Prioritising Player Welfare

At PJMOT, football development goes beyond competition. It includes ensuring that young talents are physically fit, medically cleared, and properly assessed before stepping onto the pitch. By integrating medical screening into registration, the tournament set a new standard for grassroots football administration in the region.

The screenings provided important health checks that contribute to:

  • Early detection of potential health concerns

  • Injury prevention awareness

  • Improved safety standards

  • Confidence for parents, coaches, and players

This initiative reflects PJMOT’s guiding principle: “…Professionalism for the Next Generation.”

Appreciation to Emmanuel Medical Hospital

The Local Organising Committee extends its heartfelt gratitude to Emmanuel Medical Hospital in Ho–Fiave for partnering with PJMOT to make this vision a reality. Their dedication, professionalism, and community spirit ensured a smooth and impactful exercise.

Their involvement not only strengthened the credibility of the tournament but also reinforced the importance of health-conscious football development at the grassroots level.

Setting a New Benchmark

The successful execution of this medical screening initiative sets a benchmark for future editions of PJMOT and youth tournaments across the region. It sends a clear message: talent development must go hand-in-hand with player welfare and structured systems.

As PJMOT continues to grow in the Volta Region and beyond, initiatives like this demonstrate that the tournament is not just organising matches—it is shaping a culture of professionalism, responsibility, and holistic youth development.

The maiden Volta edition has indeed laid a strong foundation, and the journey toward raising the standard of grassroots football continues.
